18th ANNUAL CAMBODIAN STEM FESTIVAL

The 18th Annual Cambodia STEM Festival (ACSF) held at Aeon Mall Mean Chey on May 10-11, 2024, marked another successful year of inspiring innovation and promoting STEM education. Organized by the STEM Education Organization for Cambodia (STEMEOC) and STEAM Cambodia, with the esteemed endorsement of the Ministry of Environment (MoE), Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport (MoEYS), and the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI), the festival brought together students, educators, industry professionals, and government officials under the theme of “Sustainability through Green Innovation.”

Supporting MoEYS’ STEM Education Efforts

With 10,600 participants, including students, educators, and families, from 77 schools (47 public ), the 18th ACSF provided a valuable platform for promoting STEM education in line with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS) initiatives. The festival offered an engaging and interactive environment where students could:

  • Showcase their projects in six key areas, sparking a passion for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM).
  • Engage with industry professionals and experts, gaining valuable insights and= inspiration for future careers in STEM fields.

Promoting the Ministry of Environment’s Circular Strategy

The 18th ACSF’s focus on green innovation aligns perfectly with the Ministry of Environment’s circular strategy. With 220 projects showcased, many addressed themes like waste reduction, resource recovery, and sustainable practices. By providing a platform for these projects, the 18th ACSF encourages students to think critically about environmental issues and develop solutions that promote a sustainable circular economy in Cambodia.

National Platform for Student Innovation

The 18th ACSF provided more than 5000 students an unmatched opportunity to display their ingenuity nationally. With 220 projects exhibited across six areas, the festival fostered a spirit of healthy competition and collaboration. This platform allowed students to:

  • Gain valuable experience presenting their ideas to a wider audience.
  • Receive feedback from industry professionals and peers, refining their skills and knowledge.
  • Network with like-minded individuals, fostering a supportive community for future innovation.
